When you know someone is interested in tarot, but you don't know whether you should buy them a particular deck or book, and you're not sure what else to do about it, what is there to do?  Well, below is a list of tarot-related items which are sure to please any tarot collector or reader on your holiday shopping list!

These items are in no particular order...... I apologize for having had to clean out so many links from this page, it was once really full of great stuff but everyone ELSE took their pages down so this is everyone that is left! In the coming weeks I will be adding new gift items so the 2005 holiday season will have plenty of new things to offer! I know I would be thrilled to receive any of them!

Attuned: a Moon Cycle Deck is a gorgeous oracle deck which also has a line of prints and special tarot and tote bags printed with the designs from the deck, which would make wonderful gifts for anyone who likes this Goddess-oriented oracle deck, but the artwork speaks for itself even if they don't read cards!

This spectacular bag would make a beautiful tarot bag to carry your deck to parties if you take your cards to social occasions, it's flashy, it's special, and it has room for your business cards as well! Makes a great gift to yourself as well as to anyone else in your life who loves to read cards!

Tarot Castings are a beautiful and long-lasting alternative to cards for readings.  Created by Amulets By Merlin, these three-dimensional tarot symbols and icons are created using the lost wax method of bronze casting and are also available in silver.  These pieces are also available as jewelry.  Amulets By Merlin also offers Rune Casters which are similar but are obviously runes.  You can order them directly from Amulets By Merlin.

Sometimes tarot storage options can also be beautiful gifts.  Custom-crafted wooden tarot boxes featuring the artwork from various cards can be purchased from the Enchanted World of Boxes to give this holiday season.

Tarot bags are another home for decks which can be unusually expressive and original.  TarotTotes by Betty Diamond come in so many different patterns you can find one to match any personality, any deck, anything you want!  Or, if crocheted styles are more your thing, the Hermit's Tarot Bags offers bags which are made to custom fit whichever deck you want, and come in a wide variety of colors and stitches!

A great gift idea for any tarotist is Tarot Tapes!  The Tarot School in New York City offers teleclasses and luminary classes on tarot frequently, and tapes of previous classes are available for sale!  You can buy some classes as individual tapes, others that come in sets; a totally unique and interesting gift!  You can purchase these from the Tarot School online.

Tarot Calendars are a great last-minute gift for any collector since they feature large-format images of cards from many decks.  Llewellyn has a gorgeous calendar which you can order directly from their site.  US Games used to publish a tarot calendar as well, but apparently has discontinued this practice.  They do, however, manufacture some excellent Tarot Magnets which make great stocking stuffers.  Magnets are available in Fools, Magicians, Lovers, Strengths, Wheels of Fortune, and Moons.  You can purchase them directly from US Games.

Tarot can be performed on your computer now!  A nice gift for any tarot collector or reader who has access to a computer is a good tarot program.  They are excellent for printing out the results of readings and archiving them, many people are discovering the additional benefits of using such a program.  The Tarot Magic cd-rom is one of the best on the market for this use, and can be purchased here.

Another program which is excellent for tarot readings on the computer is the Enchanted Tarot cd-rom.  You can check out this program, and order it, by visiting the Enchanted World of Amy Zerner and Monte Farber here.

If the person you're looking to buy for is into movies, the Red Violin is available in both a DVD and a VHS format to accomodate everyone's viewing needs!  You can check them out here.

Tarot Conversations is a special interest instructional video by Alice McDermott, looks interesting to check out!  Other tarot videos include Foretelling the Future by Paula Roberts and Learning to Read the Tarot Intuitively by Morgan Ki'ilehua.  I know that last one is the one I want in *my* stocking this year!

Another video option that is amazingly popular among some fans of both tarot and anime is the Escaflowne series.  Escaflowne is a japanese animation series which features a young girl who reads tarot cards.  Volumes 3 and 4 are not yet released but you can preorder them to ensure delivery of them immediately upon release.  You can purchase the series in four installments by clicking below:

Escaflowne -- Dragons and Destiny -- Vol. 1 -- DVD -- VHS
Escaflowne -- Betrayal and Trust -- Vol. 2 -- DVD -- VHS
Escaflowne -- Angels and Demons -- Vol. 3 -- DVD (VHS not yet available)
Escaflowne -- Past and Present -- Vol. 4 -- DVD (VHS not yet available)

Tarot music also makes a terrific gift, and an interesting stocking stuffer if you're looking for something small.  Divine Doorways -- Soundings on the Sacred Journey of the Wheel of Tarot: Fool to Fortune by Andrea Goodman and Gerry Hemingway is inspired by the Voyager Tarot; Music of the Tarot by David and Steve Gordon incorporates musical pieces devoted to the suits as well as the Majors; Tarot by Kevin Kendle is a new musical interpretation of the first half of the Major Arcana.  Tarot by Juliane Werding is an import cd from Germany.  Theelen's Music for Tarot is available from Oreade Music.  I know there are other music cd's that are devoted to tarot as well but I cannot yet find links for them; if anyone knows where to find other musical selections please let me know!

Of course there are some really beautiful gift edition books that can be given for holiday presents which are excellent choices whether a tarot reader or collector is a beginner or longtime tarotist.  One such choice is Rachel Pollack's Complete Illustrated Guide to Tarot, which features full color glossy pages and tons of great information in a large coffee-table format.  Another such book is the Tarot Decoder by Kathleen McCormack which has charts and layout sheets in it in a full-color glossy edition which is, again, large enough for the coffee table.  The Book of Divination by Ann Fiery is a gorgeous thick hardbound book which features many different kinds of divination (I can attest to the fact that when you get working with one kind you like to look into others).
