Morgan-Greer Tarot
by Bill F. Greer with Lloyd Morgan

This deck is one I've been promising myself to get around to for a really long time.  Having finally gotten around to it, I am sorry I didn't buy this one years ago.  The symbolism in it is almost identical to the Rider-Waite, traditional down to its very last card.  However, it has been completely artistically re-rendered.  Full-frame paintings replace the childlike imagery of the Rider pack, and the style is traditionally English in nature.

The suits used are the traditional Swords, Rods, Cups and Pentacles.  However, only the court cards have the suit names on them, like the Witches' Tarot.  There are no borders on any of the cards.  The deck is standard in size, the cards are thin and flex easily for shuffling.  The deck is also available in French, German, Spanish, and five-language editions.

This is a nice, calm deck with very few surprises in it.  It would make an ideal deck for the beginner, since every book that teaches on tarot that is illustrated with the Rider deck would also work well with this one.  More experienced readers like myself will find other decks richer in symbolism, but this is a perfectly suitable one for anyone.
