Aboukra by Mrod A.
Farry
a guest review by Damarys Mercado
In 1986 I was in Columbia,
South Carolina for over a month attending a job related training course.
One weekend, while sightseeing, I stepped into a small curiosity shop and
noticed one of the most unusual divination decks I have ever seen.
Intrigued, I purchased it, and later learned that the accompanying booklet
sheds no light on who Mrod A. Farry is or where he comes from. However,
the cards are printed with a copyright date of 1970, his name, and Auckland
N.Z.
According to the booklet,
Farry believed that the human mind is connected with Infinite intelligence
and what we need to know is given to us through the mysterious phenomenon
Premonition. Inspired and guided by teachings of Holy Scriptures,
he set out to discover a method everyone could use to release their Premonition
on a regular basis, and to know about their future. Farry defines
Premonition as the inner voice informing us in advance the outcome of an
event before it happens.
After years of study,
research and experimentation, he created this special deck of cards.
He called it Aboukra (pronounced a-boo-kra), an ancient word meaning tomorrow.
Aboukra not only reveals coming events, but is a source to guide and advise
you along the paths of life. Aboukra consists of 75 message cards,
3 Key cards, 3 blank cards, and 1 Premonition card. The key of Aboukra
is three. In life, nature, and Holy Scriptures, the cycle of three
continues forever. This concept is represented by the symbols on
the 3 purple cards. The design within the circle on the back of the
blue cards represents your mind; the four walking sticks are the universal
symbol for blindness; the broken sticks represent the breaking of unseen
barriers, giving you insight into your past, present, and future.
The symbol on the Premonition card represents the release of information
from your mind.
In keeping the cycle
of 3 in force, you should operate your Aboukra each month – on each one
of the three days before the monthly date of your birthday. There
are 150 messages with over a million combinations, but only the cards that
concern you are revealed. Therefore, it is not by chance or coincidence
that you receive certain messages at a particular time.
Aboukra is more personal
than most horoscopes. It recognizes that each of us has our own destiny
to fulfill. Your own mind, through mysterious Premonition, reveals
what you need to know at the appropriate time.
Aboukra was published
in 1984 by SERCO International, in Columbia, South Carolina. The
cards come in an acrylic box with a slipcase cover in purple colors.
I have not seen this deck anywhere else in the US, and don’t know of anyone
who is familiar with, or has heard of Aboukra.
