I have to admit that this has to be the ugliest deck of tarot cards I have ever seen in all the years I've been reading cards. Originally designed for the James Bond movie, "Live and Let Die," this deck of cards was released commercially and has unfortunately been with us ever since.
The
paintings are done in a surrealistic style, which means that the artist
has basically thrown any sense of proportion out the window. It is
supposed to represent dream-state imagery, but I sure don't dream stuff
like this.
I'd
be afraid to go to sleep if I did!
The
suits are Swords, Batons, Cups and Coins. The only cards in the Minor
Arcana that the artist made any effort with are the court cards.
The numbered cards are literally identical with the exception of the number
of
items pictured.
The only good thing I can say about these cards is, the colors used to indicate the elemental correspondences are so obvious they knock you over.
