Cosmic Tarot
 by Norbert Lösche

This is a strangely enticing deck.  The artwork is very well done.  The artist, Norbert Lösche, is self-taught, which makes it even more impressive.  Some of the cards are very intuitive, although I'm not exactly sure I'd say they intuit the meaning I've always associated with the card..... and a few of them simply do nothing for me.

The overall impression this deck leaves me with is the glamour of Hollywood in the classic days.  Lösche is obviously a fan of old-time movie classics.  A great many of the cards bear what would appear to be portraits of famous (and not-so-famous) movie actors and actresses.  I'm sure a greater fan of old movies than myself will find more recognizable faces in the deck.  I have seen a few, Humphrey Bogart, Clark Gable and Val Kilmer, but I know there are a *lot* more.   Oh, Greta Garbo has at least two cards according to one book I read.

The suits are Wands, Swords, Cups and Pentacles.  Lösche has attempted to remain faithful to the traditional elements in this respect at least, although he has deliberately removed a lot of the "secret" symbolism in an attempt to make each card useable by just about anyone.  The deck is slightly smaller than standard size, and handles and shuffles extremely easily.

I think a lot of people might find this a nice deck to work with, although it isn't for those who like to really study deep symbolism.  Anyone who is a classic movie buff and likes the glamour of old Hollywood will like the style.  Collectors of decks will enjoy it immensely as well.  There are two books out in publication on this deck, one by Jean Huets and one by Laura Clarson, both are commendable.
