Connolly Tarot
by Eileen and Peter Paul Connolly

This mother-son team has created a really lovely tarot based on mostly traditional themes, with some variation in the Minor Arcana and a couple of cards replaced in the Major Arcana.  This is a Christian-type deck, most of the figures in the cards look to be inspired by either a Cecil B. DeMille movie, or an old Errol Flynn-type Robin Hood flick.

This results in a deck with soft, gentle overtones and a strong presence, without any offensive cards or designs.  The Death card has been replaced by Transition, and the Devil by Materialism.  This would make an excellent deck for reading clients with for this very reason.  A lot of the Minor Arcana cards veer off sharply from the traditional design, and many of them don't seem to relate to the meaning of the cards.

The suits used are the traditional Swords, Wands, Cups and Pentacles.  None of the numbered cards are named, just have the picture and a small roman numeral at the top.  The deck is standard sized and shuffles easily.  The overall quality and appearance of the deck is very user-friendly and excellent for clients, especially the non-pagan ones.  I recommend this deck to anyone looking for a traditional outlook with a gentler side.
