Ancestral Path Tarot
by Julia Cuccia-Watts

This is a magnificent deck, comprising symbolism from four of the founding cultures of our planet..... post-contact Native American, feudal Japan, Egypt during the reign of Ramses II, and Arthurian Britain.  The Major Arcana cards are rich with life and meaning, but unlike many decks, the Minor Arcana are just as vivid and meaningful.

The cards themselves are shorter than average size, but wide, which makes them difficult to handle, but not impossible.  They will probably break in real nicely.  Their size is also not that difficult to shuffle and the stiffness of the card stock should soften and flex with time.

The deck uses the suits of Swords, Cups, Staves instead of wands, and Sacred Circles instead of pentacles.  A lot of non-pagan readers and clients are nervous around pentacles, so this is helpful if you are using them publicly.  The artwork is beautiful and very comfortable to look at. Bill did take exception to the way the Samurai warriors were pictured as wearing their swords in the Swords suit, apparently the swords are drawn as being worn upside down.

I like this deck a LOT.  This could become the next deck for reading for clients with.  I had a real hard time narrowing it down to only SIX cards for the picture.  The book that is available for this deck is really good and I definitely recommend buying both the deck and the book if you get the chance, it's worth the extra money to have the book.
